24 October 2017. The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate (EFKM) and the European Commission have approved funding to support the implementation of ambitious NAMAs in Colombia, Chile and China.
In Colombia, the NAMA Facility Donors support the implementation of the NAMA for the Domestic Refrigeration Sector with EUR 9 million.
In China the Integrated Waste NAMA receives funding of EUR 8 million to support the implementation.
The Chilean Self-Supply Renewable Energy (SSRE) NAMA receives support of EUR 14 million for the implementation of the financial component. With this, the NAMA Facility Donors provides a total of EUR 17 million to the Chilean project.
The NAMA Facility will continue to support developing countries and emerging economies in implementing the most ambitious NAMAs with a high potential for transformational change towards a low-carbon development trajectory.
The NAMA Facility will host a side event at this year’s Conference of the Parties (COP) 23. The event will take place at 13 November, 9.30 am – 11 am. More information on the event will be published soon.
