NAMA Facility Donors Select Five Ambitious 6th Call NAMA Support Projects to Enter the DPP

In a renewed commitment to ambitious climate action, the United Kingdom and Germany have committed up to EUR 74 million for 6th Call NAMA Support Projects (NSPs). The NAMA Facility’s 6th Call received 51 NSP Outline submissions, from which five have now been selected by the NAMA Facility's Donors to enter the Detailed Preparation Phase (DPP). The NAMA Facility is pleased to announce the following 6th Call NSPs entering the DPP:

  •        Honduras – Transforming the Livestock Sector into a Low-Carbon Economy
  •        Jordan – Scaling Up Renewable Energy Financing Facility
  •        Madagascar – Northern Madagascar REDD+ Project
  •        Mongolia – Energy Performance Contracting for Residential Retrofitting in Ulaanbaatar City
  •        Morocco – Improving Energy Performance of Moroccan Households

Upon entering the DPP, NSPs receive funding and access to expertise to further elaborate the submitted Outline’s concept into a robust NSP Proposal. Once completed, the NAMA Facility Board will assess these NSP Proposals and make a final decision on NSPs entering the Implementation Phase.

The NAMA Facility supports ambitious climate mitigation action in developing countries and emerging economies around the world by providing funding for the development of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions, or NAMAs. Within the context of the Paris Agreement, these NAMAs act as building blocks for Nationally Determined Contribution implementation, as countries strive to meet their climate mitigation targets. The NAMA Facility’s Donors seek to support countries taking ambitious action in pursuit of these aims.
